Who are we?
Stephen Ministers are congregation members who are trained and commissioned to provide one-to-one lay caring ministry to persons in crisis or with other needs for care. They understand that confidentiality is crucial in any caring relationship. The care receiver needs to know that what he or she says to the Stephen Minister will remain in confidence.
Why do we exist?
Stephen Ministers act as ministers of referral, helping people in crisis who need caring support or those in moderate difficulties. The Stephen Minister's care helps the care receiver resolve the difficulty and achieve growth.
How can we help you?
Stephen Ministers meet once a week with their care receivers for about an hour at a time. They may also check in with the care receiver by telephone, particularly when the care receiver is going through a difficult time. Please contact Pastor John for a confidential referral to a Stephen Minister that will best suit your needs.
The significant logo tells the story of a care receiver's journey from brokenness to wholeness through the transforming power of the cross of Jesus. The broken person behind the cross symbolizes how we are all broken people, broken by our own sin and imperfections. It is not the Stephen Minister who restores a person to wholeness. Rather it is only through Christ that a person can be made whole.
